Tasks serve a variety of uses on the Task Board. The Task Details establish the context and outcomes for learners to take action. Task Actions can be added to the Task Details to further frame what learners should do, and in some cases automatically track when the learner has completed the task.

Example Scenarios

  • You want the learner to watch a video to the end, and automatically mark the task complete.

  • You want the learner to participate in the task's discussion by adding a post.

  • You want the learner to submit evidence to the task, and automatically mark the task complete (versus the default of mark the Task as 'Submitted').

Using Task Actions

  1. When editing a Task's Details, click to add an Action to the Task.

  2. Edit the action's Options, such as by specifying which video to watch.

  3. Determine if you want the Headrush to automatically complete the task when all the actions are complete.

  4. Preview the task to see how it will be shown to Learners.

  5. Monitor progress on Actions on the Task > Evidence view.

โ„น๏ธ Multiple Task Actions can be combined in the same task.

Tracking Task Actions

The Activity Feed and Task Board Evidence View will be updated when Learners start, update, or complete a Task Action. Likewise, in the Task Evidence view, an update will appear for each learner's progress on the Action.

Complete

The Learner has not started working on the Task or Evidence.

The Learner is working on the Evidence.

If a Task Action is set to auto complete the Task, this state will not happen.

The Advisor has returned the Evidence to the Learner for further work or review.

If a Task is set to Auto Completion it will go from In Progress directly to Complete.

Automatic Completion

Headrush can automatically mark the task Complete for each learner who completes all Task Actions. An update will appear in Task Evidence, Evidence View, and Activity Feed.

โ„น๏ธ When automatic completion is enabled, the task cannot be assessed. If assessment is desired, break up the task into multiple tasks. Put automatic completion actions in the same task, and assessed actions in a different task.

๐Ÿ‘‰ If you have more than one Task Action on a Task, the Task status for that student will not change to Submit/Complete until all Task Actions have been completed.
