Headrush allows teachers and students to access, present, and assess material and work within an interactive task board. If you’re new to Headrush, we recommend signing up for a free 30-minute online training session here.

In this guide, we’ll focus on how to use Headrush to implement module in your classroom.

Logging In

If it’s your first time logging into Headrush, navigate to your Headrush site and register with your email and password.

Once you’ve created your account, click on “Start New”. Select the Module you want to begin. Click “GO” to make a copy and customize for your content.

Setting up your Class

In order to invite students to view your modules, you will need to add them to My Students. You can watch this video to learn how to add students. Or, follow these steps:

  1. From your Dashboard, click on “My Students”

  2. Click “New Group” to create a new group of students. You can call this anything you want to, and our recommendation is that you add ALL of your students that will be working in Headrush (across classes and modules) into the same group.

  3. Then, click on “Invite new”, and then enter your students’ information. Be sure to follow the shown format: firstName, lastName, email. Alternatively, you can upload a CSV file with your students first names, last names, and email addresses.

  4. When you’re done, hit “preview import”. If everything looks good, click on “Import”.

  5. You’ll then be able to see what your email invitations will look like. Click “email invites” to send invitations to all of your students.

  6. Now, your “my students” page is populated with everyone you’ve just added. You can then add them to the modules.

Overview + Adding learners (your students) to modules:

Click into your module to land on the overview page. Here, you’ll see your module’s Driving Question, a summary of the module content, and a full list of the content and performance expectations, or CPE’s, that are targeted in your module.

When you’re ready to add students to your module, you’ll do it on this page. Scroll down to “Who’s Involved”, and click the + icon next to “Learners” to begin adding students. Your students will receive an invite in their email once you have added them to the module. Note that this is a separate step from the one you completed above - students need to be added first to your dashboard (as you have done in step 2) and then added to each module you are teaching individually.

Navigating the Task Board

The Task Board is a visual representation of the content, broken down into Tasks and Columns. The task board has 4 views: the board, calendar, evidence, and workflow. Both students and teachers can see all of these views; the only difference is that students can only see their own work when they click on the “evidence” tab. You will be able to see your full class’s work.

Content for your module is organized into columns on the task board. Create and rearrange the columns to suit your goals and needs.

Change Learner Passwords

If a learner cannot receive emails from Headrush, it may be necessary to change their password manually. Learn how
