Headrush requires a modern web browser and a device that can connect to the internet. No special plugins or other software is needed to be installed.

However, depending on your school or district setup, there may be some additional steps your IT team or technology partner may need to complete to grant access and ensure a smooth Headrush rollout.

Overview

Adding Headrush as a Trusted 3rd App on your Google Workspace

If your school or district has a Google Workspace for Education domain, there are many features and benefits to integrating your domain with Headrush. Depending on how your domain is configured, below are some additional steps that may be required to make everything work smoothly.

Headrush integration requires what Google calls a "Trusted" level of access to function correctly. Here's how you ensure Headrush has the proper level of access:

  1. On the left hand side, navigate to Security > Access and data control > API controls

  2. Click Manage Third-Party App Access

  3. Under Accessed Apps, click View list, then search for Headrush in the list of apps.

  4. If Headrush is already present, following the instructions below to configured Trusted Access. If Headrush is NOT present, jump to step 6.

    1. Click Change Access

    2. Leave as headrushapp.com (all users) OR choose a specific Org Unit if applicable. Click Next.

    3. Choose Trusted, then click Next

    4. On the final confirmation screen, click Change Access

    5. All done! You can skip step 6.

  5. If Headrush is not already present as a 3rd party app, you'll need to manually add it. Follow these steps to do that:

    1. Under Configured Apps, click View list

    2. Click Configure new app

    3. Search for Headrush and choose the FIRST result:

    4. Leave as headrushapp.com (all users) OR choose a specific Org Unit if applicable. Click Continue.

    5. Choose Trusted, click Continue

    6. On the final confirmation screen, click Finish

  6. You are now all done configuring Trusted access for Headrush!

Bypass Spam filtering for Headrush emails

Sometimes Headrush email get caught up in as spam especially in the initial phases where our emails might be new and unrecognized. We recommend minimizing these issues by adding Headrush to your spam whitelist to ensure delivery of important email invites and notifications.

For Google Workspace domains, here's how to bypass spam filtering for Headrush emails:

  1. In the left hand menu, navigate to Apps > Google Workspace > Gmail

  2. Click Spam, phishing, malware

  3. Scroll to the Spam section and click Configure

  4. Type a description and then click Create or edit list

  5. A new tab will open to allow you to create a new address list. Click Add Address List

  6. Add the Headrush email domain as follows, then click Save.

  7. Return to the Spam, phishing, and malware tab, and click Use existing list

  8. Choose Headrush emails and close the pop-up window.

  9. Click Save.

  10. Your domain is now configured to allow headrushapp.com to bypass spam filters!

NOTE: These changes can take up to 24 hours to take effect.
