Broadcast Announcements

Send an update via email to the audience of a Landing Page

Written by James Carlson

Admins and page editors can send an announcement post via email to anyone who is able view a Landing Page.

  1. Create a new announcement.

  2. Check the box to "Send as email"

  3. Enter a subject line

  4. Click "Save and Send"

Headrush will update the post with details about how many emails have been sent and when users view the post, it will update a count of views so you know how many of your audience are looking at the post.

What the Broadcast Audience Gets

Headrush uses a branded template including your organization's logo (as set up in Admin > Global Settings > School Info) when sending broadcast announcements.

When recipients click View Announcement, the link will open Headrush to the landing page and highlight the announcement:

How Broadcast Announcements work

Broadcast emails are sent one at a time through AWS Simple Email Service (SES, AWS's managed sending platform). Rather than blasting all emails simultaneously, they're queued individually and sent at a controlled rate to maintain a healthy sending reputation. AWS SES handles the technical deliverability layer: authenticated sending (SPF/DKIM), reputation monitoring, and bounce/complaint management. This is standard practice for bulk email and is what keeps messages out of spam folders.
